What is Die Casting Process?

Die casting is a high pressure metal manufacturing process that forces molten metal into a mold (aka tool or tooling) cavity. The mold cavity consists of two hardened tool steel dies. A hot- or cold-chamber machine is used based on the cast metal.

We offer die casting services in a variety of materials (please reference the charactericstics of aluminum, magnesium, and zinc alloys that we use for die casting) that produce accurate and complex shapes. Die casting can produce a broad range of parts with perfect finish and astonishing detail. Our dies produce products with higher tolerance for heat and pressure, that are more durable and last longer than parts made by other methods, and are competitively priced.

Aluminum Die Casting for Small to Unusually Large Parts (2 g to 50 kg [110 lb.])

We deliver aluminum die castings at significantly decreased lead and cycle times with first-piece success. We have the widest range of aluminum die casting machine sizes in Asia, from 150 ton to 2,500 ton, producing aluminum die casting parts as large as 50 kg (110 lb.)!

Magnesium Hot-Chamber and Cold-Chamber Die Casting

Magnesium is lightest amongst all casting materials, and offers advantages over steel and some aluminum alloys in terms of dimensional stability and impact and dent resistance. Modern high purity mangenium alloys deliver better corrosion resistance than steel and some aluminum alloys.

We operate one of the largest and most advanced cold-chamber magnesium die casting machines for magnesium die casting parts in Taiwan. We also operate hot-chamber magnesium die casting machines to cover all product requirements.

Zinc Die Casting

We produce net-shape, flash-free components at low unit cost and with minimum tooling investment.

Die Casting an Alternative to Short-Run Machined Parts

Traditionally die casting is used to produce complex parts with intricate geometry, but needs certain minium volume to cover the relatively higher tooling cost (in North America and Europe). Our highly competitive tooling price has enabled many previously machined parts to be manufactured in die casting economically, making die casting process accessible to low- and medium-volume parts.

DFM and International Die Casting Standards

We provide expert Design for Manufacturability (DFM) consulting services so that our customers' designs are optmized for aluminum, magnesium, or zinc die casting process. We use NADCA standards so that international customers can expect consistent results from us that are on par or better than those they source from North American or EU suppliers..
